Trollbeads inspiration: CF’s Iced Raspberries

One of our most gifted bracelet designers recently undertook an exciting, new project:  a raspberry pink and silver grey composition.

Raspberry is a tricky colour to work with in the Trollbeads palette, as there are very few beads from which to choose… Unfortunately she missed the spring release of Pink Agate, but she quickly selected “The Diamond Bead, Pink” and “Silver Trace, Pink” as key beads.  “Silver Mountain” was a natural choice, and we stumbled upon a “Labradorite” with a distinct, pink shimmer instead of the usual blue or green.  She was able to use several lovely beads that she already had in her collection, including “Dichroic Ice”, “Blue Desert” and two of the Spring Limited Edition “Diamond Flowers”.

…And then, just when we were thinking that we might have to be patient and wait for a few more raspberry coloured beads to be released, a stroke of luck:  a kit of Universal Uniques containing several, luscious raspberry beads!  Just *look* at this Raspberry Armadillo!  CF also selected an amazing, pinstriped raspberry bead, and the two of them now act as the foundation for the whole, gorgeous design.

Isn’t it amazing?

Clockwise from clasp:  “Large Flower Lock”, “Limited Edition Diamond Flower”, “Silver Trace, Pink”, “Blue Desert”, “Etruscan”, “Pink Bud”, “Dichroic Ice”, “Diamond Bead, Pink”, “Three Siblings”, “Silver Mountain”, “Universal Unique – Raspberry Armadillo”, “Silver Mountain”, “Jellyfish”, “Diamond Bead, Pink”, “Dichroic Ice”, “Universal Unique, Raspbery Stripe”, “Harmony”, “Labradorite”, “Silver Trace, Pink”, “Limited Edition Diamond Flower”.

You’ll notice that CF has made good use of repeating certain key beads for rhythm and emphasis… each example is so different from another, that each bead retains its individual identity, but the overall effect is quite powerful.

This bracelet is almost finished… as a crowning touch CF is still deciding which beads will frame the lock and complete the design.  Two “Lotus”?  or perhaps two “Small Berry”… or perhaps there will be something in the upcoming Autumn 2011 collection that will be just perfect?

One last look…
